ICETIME LUXE HAVE PARTNERED WITH ONE TREE PLANTED TO PLANT TREES

At Icetime Luxe, our commitment to both style and sustainability has led us to an exciting partnership with One Tree Planted Non Profit. Located in the beautiful state of South Carolina, we recognize the importance of preserving our natural environment, and we're thrilled to take tangible steps to make a positive impact. By collaborating with One Tree Planted, we're not only contributing to reforestation efforts in our local community and beyond, but we're also aligning ourselves with a cause that resonates with our values and those of our customers. We believe that fashion and sustainability can coexist harmoniously, and this partnership allows us to demonstrate that commitment by planting trees for a greener and more vibrant future. Together with One Tree Planted, we're not just making fashion statements; we're making a difference, one tree at a time.

One Tree Planted is dedicated to global reforestation. They plant trees to restore nature and biodiversity. They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment.

“One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Our projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and environmental organizations to create an impact for nature, people, and wildlife. In 2022, We planted over 52 million trees through 327 projects in 74 countries - doubling our impact across the board. This year, in collaboration with business and planting partners, we’ve planted 100 million trees - reaching an incredible milestone since our start in 2014!”

The Benefits of Planting Trees to our Planet?

Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Have you ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!

Here are the six pillars that explain why trees are vital:

AIR: Trees help to clean the air we breathe. Through their leaves and bark, they absorb harmful pollutants and release clean oxygen for us to breathe. In urban environments, trees absorb pollutant gases like nitrogen oxides, ozone, and carbon monoxide, and sweep up particles like dust and smoke. Increasing levels of carbon dioxide caused by deforestation and fossil fuel combustion trap heat in the atmosphere. Healthy, strong trees act as carbon sinks, offset carbon and reducing the effects of climate change.

BIODIVERSITY: A single tree can be home to hundreds of species of insect, fungi, moss, mammals, and plants. Depending on the kind of food and shelter they need, different forest animals require different types of habitat. Without trees, forest creatures would have nowhere to call home.

CLIMATE: Trees help cool the planet by sucking in and storing harmful greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into their trunks, branches, and leaves — and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere. In cities, trees can reduce ambient temperatures by up to 8° Celsius. With more than 50% of the world’s population living in cities — a number expected to increase to 66% by the year 2050 — pollution and overheating are becoming a real threat. Fortunately, a mature tree can absorb an average of 22lbs of carbon dioxide per year, making cities a healthier, safer place to live.

HEALTH: Did you know that hospital patients with rooms overlooking trees recover faster than those without the same view? It’s impossible to ignore that feeling of elation you get while walking through a calm, quiet forest. Trees help reduce stress and anxiety, and allow us to reconnect with nature. In addition, shade provided by tree coverage helps protect our skin from the ever-increasing harshness of the sun.

SOCIAL IMPACT: From arborists to loggers and researchers, the job opportunities provided by the forestry industry are endless. We don’t just rely on trees for work, though. Sustainable tree farming provides timber to build homes and shelters, and wood to burn for cooking and heating. Food-producing trees provide fruit, nuts, berries, and leaves for consumption by both humans and animals, and pack a powerful nutritional punch.

WATER: Trees play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides. Their intricate root systems act like filters, removing pollutants and slowing down the water’s absorption into the soil. This process prevents harmful waterslide erosion and reduces the risk of over-saturation and flooding. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Association, a mature evergreen tree can intercept more than 15,000 liters of water every year.

How Is Icetime Luxe Involved?

We donate directly for planting trees by Region and Impact. For Regions, we have selected where they are needed most and Europe (Romania) and By Impact - Monarch Restauration.

Monarch Restauration
Mexico is a resting place for the migration of Monarch butterflies, one of nature's most important pollinators. Reforestation will protect these critical biodiversity habitats.
With your help, we will:
• Create habitat for monarch butterflies
• Work with indigenous communities
• Reduce soil erosion & prevent landslides

In the store: We will charge $1 for the paper shopping bag. 100% of the funds will go towards planting trees by region and by impact.

Why Plant Trees in Romania?
Climate change and shifts in agricultural practices have left large swathes of Romania's lowlands eerily abandoned. Without people to manage the land, soil erosion and degradation of the landscape is starting to take its toll. Our planting partners in regions like Transylvania are converting this spooky abandoned land into healthy forests and raising awareness on the importance of proper land management, ensuring these forests are well maintained for years to come.

Where they are needed most?
The Andes Mountains in South America have faced a significant challenge – deforestation. Once filled with lush forests, this regions has seen a decline in tree cover due to population growth and increased agriculture. The Andes' forests are lifelines for Indigenous communities, providing sustenance, water, and livelihoods. Their significance extends beyond the local communities that call them home, as these mountains' watersheds feed the Amazon basin, supplying water to countless communities downstream.
